Remains of fleeting time

A commission to create an organic triptych with rococco elements resulted in a series of collaged papercuts playing with negative spaces.

As well connecting to the ongoing race to protect endangered species and their habitat, the series relates to the importance of zero waste. Each piece was cut with the negative space in mind, avoiding over-cutting into the background print whilst removing the birds and flowers.

The framing references natural history presentations and plays with museology and the collection of species.

Each collage is sandwiched between glass and combined with a floating mount itself floating in the box frame.
